We are offering complementary Auditory Cognitive Skills Assessments throughout the month of October!
Last year we began our work in tertiary education and partnered with University College London Ear Institute as a Clinical Audiology placement site for student’s completing their Master’s Degree in Audiological Science.
We were delighted to welcome Miss Madison Tutton who joined us with her BSc degree qualification and this year we are even more excited to share the news of her successful completion of a Masters degree in Audiological Science since joining Cubex putting her at the forefront of Audiological Science and technology, auditory cognitive training and aural enablement.
*To celebrate we would love to offer you the opportunity to arrange to see Miss Tutton for an Auditory Cognitive Skills Assessment during the month of October 2017 with our compliments. Checking the state of your cognition & being aware of ongoing functional hearing ability will ensure that you can continue to live your everyday life with ease and awareness.
Please get in touch with a Cubex representative on 0207 935 5511 or drop us an e-mail here.
*Offer valid until 31st October 2017
More about Madison
Madison brings to us a breath of fresh air and a contagious enthusiasm. She has also developed into an incredibly patient centred Audiologist always ensuring that her scientific skills are applied in the most human and individualised manner possible. Her interest to help people re-connect with and maximise their ability to participate in their auditory and communication world has become a daily passion and so we cannot be happier to have her on our team.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a suburban town just east of Toronto, Canada.
What did you study?
I studied at the University of Waterloo (Canada) where I received my BSc (Hons) in Health Studies.
The program was multi-disciplinary affording me the opportunity to study the different aspects influencing human health. It was this approach that helped me to realize that I wanted to pursue a career in health care that was multi-faceted, and with the intersection of biology, physics, psychology and technology I knew that audiology was the perfect match.
To pursue my career in audiology I moved to London in 2015 where I undertook my MSc in Audiological Science at UCL. The first year of my MSc involved an in-depth examination of audiological theories and principles. During this time I was also exposed to clinical practice, largely within the NHS.
What’s it been like completing your Masters degree clinical placement at Cubex?
It’s been a whirlwind of new experiences and important lessons. Since I first walked through the doors of Cubex, the team has been welcoming and supportive of my development as a Cubex clinician. Cubex offers a unique and memorable experience for patients, so although the learning curve was steep, it was incredibly fulfilling.
It didn’t take long for Cubex to make a strong and positive impression on me. A short time into my placement I had begun to envision myself working at a clinic like Cubex long term. The Cubex approach to hearing health care strongly aligns with clinical values.
Congratulations on completing the MSc!!! Well done! How do you feel now that you have achieved this? What are you going to do with all this free time?
One word. Relieved! The audiological science program is as challenging as it is rewarding. As for free time, I’m excited to begin learning a new language (I’m thinking Spanish), and to take advantage of being on Europe’s doorstep with some overdue travel.
Special thanks has to start with my parents, their support since I began my MSc cannot be under-estimated.
At UCL, special thanks to the Ear Institute for providing the opportunity to undertake my placement at Cubex.
Finally, I have to thank the entire team at Cubex, with special thanks to Adam Shulberg, Jerusha Shulberg and Saima Rajasingam. Their guidance, professionalism and know-how has been second-to-none. All three have proven to be excellent mentors with their own distinct yet valuable approach to clinical audiology.
